Filmed along the coastal landscape of Pernaja in Southern Finland in the early spring of 2021, this moving image work explores the body in relation. Bodies of water, ice, clouds, trees, and moss invite sensing and spontaneous, undirected movement to arise between various temporalities, mixing with memory,  longing, and layered sound.

 

Through playful movement and timing, the work seeks to both blur and illuminate perceived boundaries, inviting an embodied gaze to wander, pause, and breathe with the multiple subjects becoming—within and beyond the frame.

 

Shot across various sites and practices during the COVID-19 pandemic, the piece reflects on the meaning of ‘work’ at a time when much of the world was suspended in disorientation and reattuning.
